Indian benchmark indices are expected to open on a positive note on July 31, supported by firm global cues, with GIFT Nifty trading higher around the 24,432 mark in early trade.
In the previous session, the benchmark indices ended in positive territory after witnessing a volatile trading day.
Strength in the IT sector helped lift the markets, while losses in realty, capital goods, healthcare, and select heavyweight stocks capped the overall gains.
On Thursday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 77928.15 up by 273.55 points or by 0.35 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24317.15 up by 66.95 points or by 0.28 %.
On the global front, in the Asia-Pacific region, South Korea’s Kospi jumped by a whopping 15 per cent, as chip heavyweight SK Hynix and Samsung shares soared 25 per cent and 20 per cent, respectively. The index was up 13.63 per cent in early deals.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 and China’s CSI 100 were up 5.35 per cent and 1.83 per cent, respectively.
The Dow Jones Industrial and the S&P 500 ended 1.19 per cent and 1.66 per cent higher, respectively. The Nasdaq Composite settled 2.78 per cent higher.

The FIIs on 30/07/2026 stood as net buyer in equity and debt. Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 20995.09 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 766.79 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 15195.90 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 288.73 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. 5799.19 Crore and Rs. 478.06
