Domestic equity benchmarks extended their gains on Tuesday after rallying nearly 3% over the previous two sessions. Market sentiment remained upbeat following reports of a preliminary peace agreement between Iran and the U.S., which triggered a sharp decline in crude oil prices and eased concerns over global supply disruptions.

At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 76554.33 up by 290 points or by 0.38 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23938.1 up by 84.2 points or by 0.35 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 76676.3 and intraday low of 76443.34 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23941.1 and intraday low of 23888.2
