Sensex plunges 262 points; IT, realty stocks weigh

The Nifty50 opened under pressure and continued to trade lower in the early session, following weakness in global markets. Investor sentiment remained cautious amid escalating geopolitical concerns involving the United States and Iran, which led to increased risk aversion across equities.

At 9:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74083.24 down by -262.93 points or by -0.35 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23345.9 down by -59.7 points or by -0.26 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 74229.8 and intraday low of 73807.3 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23362.85 and intraday low of 23247.3

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 251.50,+1.78%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4131.00,+1.09%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1821.05,+0.99%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2680.00,+0.76%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1484.00,+0.74%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Trent Ltd. (Rs. 2761.95,-2.71%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1208.60,-1.11%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 746.25,-0.98%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1719.30,-0.78%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 869.75,-0.78%), among others.
