Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty extended gains for a second straight session on Tuesday, rising nearly 1 per cent, supported by strong buying in metal and auto stocks and positive global cues.

The 30-share benchmark index ended at 76070.84 up by 567.99 points or by 0.75 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23581.15 up by 172.35 points or by 0.74 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 76304.26 and intraday low of 75324.73 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23656.8 and intraday low of 23346.6

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 234.70,+5.70%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 195.40,+4.41%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3130.50,+3.12%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 439.65,+2.39%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3543.10,+2.29%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1232.50,-1.37%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 868.60,-1.17%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 304.95,-1.05%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2391.75,-0.69%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1363.50,-0.65%), among others.
