Indian Benchmark indices pared their early morning gains but were still trading in the positive territory on Tuesday. In the broader markets, Nifty MidCap index erased losses to trade 0.07 per cent higher. The Nifty SmallCap index, too, rose 0.44 per cent.

Asian stock markets were mixed in thin trade, with mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea closed for the Lunar New Year holidays.

Among individual shares, Texmaco Rail & Engineering share price snapped a five-day losing streak in Tuesday's session and jumped 11 per cent on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). While Ola Electric’s share price fell 5 per cent on BSE, registering a fresh low at ₹27.36 per share on growth concerns.

At 11:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83411.83 up by 134.68 points or by 0.16 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25685.8 up by 3.05 points or by 0.01 %.

The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 83523.22 and intraday low of 82987.43 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25730.35 and intraday low of 25570.30.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1424.80,+4.29%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1501.40,+2.62%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 325.20,+2.28%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2439.70,+1.79%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2755.50,+1.75%), among others.

Whereas, Kwality Wall's (India) Ltd. (Rs. 28.04,-4.98%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 279.65,-2.24%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 203.20,-1.24%), Trent Ltd. (Rs. 4184.00,-1.06%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1422.10,-1.00%), among others were the losers.

Among sectors, BSETECk index was at 16983.46 up by 311.79 points or by 1.87%. Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1424.80,+4.29%), HFCL Ltd. (Rs. 71.76,+3.97%), Tejas Networks Ltd. (Rs. 340.65,+2.88%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1501.40,+2.62%), Persistent Systems Ltd. (Rs. 5724.95,+2.56%),.

Whereas, Metal index was at 38896.35 down by -514.4 points or by -1.31%. Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 154.65,-3.07%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 339.55,-2.48%), Jindal Stainless Ltd. (Rs. 737.75,-2.42%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 888.00,-2.12%), Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (Rs. 582.55,-1.93%).

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4141 , shares advanced were 2380 while 1556 shares declined and 205 were unchanged.
