Indian benchmarks continued to trade in positive terrain during the noon trading session led by a rise in power, banking and select heavyweight stocks despite weak broader breadth. Broader indices were marginally higher, with the Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 edging up, even as India VIX ticked up to around 13.4.
On the corporate front, share price of Engineers India Limited (EIL) moved higher by 9 per cent to ₹219.90, its highest level in the past six months. While Shakti Pumps (India) share price slumped 14 per cent in Monday’s session following its third-quarter result.
Also, shares of Religare Enterprises Ltd. fell over 5 per cent intraday on Monday after it approved plan to demerge its financial services and insurance businesses into two separately listed entities.
At 14:43 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83141.44 up by 514.68 points or by 0.62 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25620.4 up by 149.3 points or by 0.59 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 83212.01 and intraday low of 82276.95 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25624.9 and intraday low of 25372.7.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1504.60,-2.00%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1009.20,-1.45%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 15030.05,-1.30%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3503.55,-0.86%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1358.30,-0.82%), among others.
