Indian benchmarks Sensex and Nifty traded modestly higher on Monday morning, holding firm since the open despite mixed broader participation. In the broader markets, Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices were trading marginally lower by 0.03 per cent and 0.07 per cent, respectively.

Overseas, European stocks are seen opening broadly higher on Monday, though trading volumes are likely to remain thin due to a holiday in the U.S. for Presidents' Day.

Among key shares, shares of Blue Jet Healthcare hit a 52-week low of ₹357.75, falling 10 per cent on the BSE in Monday's intraday trade. KFin Technologies shares jumped 5.5 per cent in trade on BSE, logging an intra-day high at ₹1,022 per share.

At 12:33 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82970.39 up by 343.63 points or by 0.42 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25561.25 up by 90.15 points or by 0.35 %.

The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 82982.71 and intraday low of 82276.95 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25565.7 and intraday low of 25372.70.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kwality Wall's (India) Ltd. (Rs. 30.16,+2916.00%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 298.20,+3.76%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 927.75,+2.44%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 368.70,+1.58%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1541.15,+1.42%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1510.65,-1.60%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1348.75,-1.52%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 15046.90,-1.19%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1015.20,-0.87%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3505.70,-0.80%), among others.

Among the sectors, BSE Power index was at 6846.7 up by 133.13 points or by 1.98%. Adani Green Energy Ltd. (Rs. 986.35,+3.77%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 298.20,+3.76%), GE Vernova T&D India Ltd. (Rs. 3668.15,+3.16%), Siemens Energy India Ltd. (Rs. 2815.60,+2.80%), Adani Power Ltd. (Rs. 143.10,+2.29%).

On the flip side, Bankex index was at 67988.3 up by 512.39 points or by 0.76%. HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 927.75,+2.44%), Canara Bank (Rs. 145.00,+2.29%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1351.95,+1.36%), Bank of Baroda (Rs. 290.95,+1.24%), IDFC First Bank Ltd. (Rs. 82.40,+1.23%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4414 , shares advanced were 1676 while 2526 shares declined and 212 were unchanged.
