Indian benchmarks continued to trade higher over 140 points during the late morning deals led by gain in the energy and bank stocks. In the broader markets, Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices were trading lower by 0.11 per cent each.

Among individual shares, GMR Airports shares jumped 6.2 per cent in trade on BSE, logging an intra-day high at ₹99.86 per share.

Whereas, IT stocks extended last week's declines, with Infosys and Tech Mahindra falling around 1 percent each.

The 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82770.36 up by 143.6 points or by 0.17 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25517.8 up by 46.7 points or by 0.18 %.

The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 82905.13 and intraday low of 82276.95 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25561.85 and intraday low of 25372.70.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kwality Wall's (India) Ltd. (Rs. 31.27,+3027.00%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 298.60,+3.90%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 923.35,+1.95%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 368.85,+1.63%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 317.70,+1.31%), among others.

Whereas, Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1339.25,-2.21%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1507.60,-1.80%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 15013.55,-1.40%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1403.85,-0.74%), State Bank of India (Rs. 1190.30,-0.71%), among others were the losers.

Among sectors, BSE Power index was at 6830.59 up by 117.02 points or by 1.74%. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 298.65,+3.91%), Siemens Energy India Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4324 , shares advanced were 1596 while 2511 shares declined and 217 were unchanged.
