India stocks gained momentum after opening flat on Wednesday amid nervousness ahead of the US Federal Reserve's monetary policy decision later today.

At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84933.99 up by 267.71 points or by 0.32 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25901.95 up by 62.3 points or by 0.24 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 84945.48 and intraday low of 84607.49 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25905.55 and intraday low of 25832.65

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1518.65,+1.48%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2092.00,+1.10%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2152.00,+1.05%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 162.15,+0.97%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3670.60,+0.86%), among others.
