Indian equities opened lower on Friday, weighed down by the selling pressure in TCS shares. Among sectors, IT, media down 1 percent each, auto index down 0.5 percent.
On the corporate front, Hindustan Unilever (HUL) share price gained 3.7 per cent in trade on Friday on BSE, logging an intraday high at ₹2,500 per share. While Ireda shares, slipped 4 per cent on 36 per cent Y-o-Y decline in net profit in Q1FY26.
Meanwhile in Asia, Australian stock market is trading modestly lower on Friday after opening in the green, reversing some of the gains in the previous session, despite the broadly positive cues from Wall Street overnight. Hong Kong is up 1.8 percent, while China, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia are higher by between 0.3 and 0.8 percent each.
At 9:43 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83007.41 down by -182.87 points or by -0.22 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25310.4 down by -44.85 points or by -0.18 %.
