Mid-Session: Sensex up 381 points; NTPC, Bharti Airtel top gainers

Indian benchmark indices continued to trade higher during the noon trading session supported by buying in index heavyweights including NTPC Ltd. Bharti Airtel Ltd, Nestle India Ltd,Titan Company Ltd, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. among others.

At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83329.45 up by 381.22 points or by 0.46 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25432.2 up by 54.65 points or by 0.22 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 83773.61 and intraday low of 83097.22 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25611.95 and intraday low of 25390.2

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 427.90,+3.39%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1702.00,+2.99%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2647.00,+2.01%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3778.30,+1.47%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12378.55,+1.46%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1404.60,-1.68%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 4306.00,-0.93%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3697.45,-0.86%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1741.15,-0.83%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 149.65,-0.63%), among others.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4128 , shares advanced were 1094 while 2884 shares declined and 150 were unchanged.
