Indian benchmark indices BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 climbed to fresh all-time highs at opening bell, following gains in Asia-Pacific markets and Wall Street futures, after Jerome Powell-led US Federal Reserve announced a 50bps rate cut on Wednesday evening.
At 9:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83624.09 up by 675.86 points or by 0.81 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25570.2 up by 192.65 points or by 0.76 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 83773.61 and intraday low of 83332.09 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25587.1 and intraday low of 25481.7
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 427.80,+3.37%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12388.55,+1.54%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3777.45,+1.44%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1673.75,+1.28%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1254.05,+1.27%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1746.10,-0.54%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1881.80,-0.30%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1425.95,-0.19%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3724.55,-0.14%), among others.
