TVS Motor launches Ronin Agonda series to strengthen modern-retro motorcycle portfolio

TVS Motor Company, a global manufacturer of two- and three-wheelers, has launched the TVS Ronin Agonda, a new addition to its modern-retro motorcycle lineup inspired by the custom motorcycle culture of Agonda Beach in Goa, India. The motorcycle was unveiled at an event held at Jimbaran Resto, Ancol, Jakarta, targeting motorcycle enthusiasts in Indonesia.

The Ronin Agonda combines adventure-inspired styling with coastal aesthetics under the theme “Where Adventure Meets the Ocean Soul.” Its design draws inspiration from Agonda Beach's relaxed atmosphere, featuring a white fuel tank with red and blue pinstripes that create a distinctive three-tone finish.

First showcased at TVS's annual Moto Soul 2025 event at Vagator Beach, Goa, the Ronin Agonda is positioned as an exclusive offering for riders in Indonesia. It is priced at IDR 37,080,000 on-road in Greater Jakarta.

The motorcycle is based on the Base Variant and comes equipped with single-channel ABS for front-wheel braking stability, Rain and Urban riding modes, Glide Through Technology (GTT) and a slipper clutch. GTT enables the motorcycle to move at low speeds in first, second and third gears without requiring continuous clutch or throttle operation, helping reduce rider fatigue in congested traffic. The slipper clutch facilitates smoother gear changes, particularly during downshifts.

In Indonesia, the TVS Ronin is available in Base and Top variants. The Base Variant comes in Lightning Black and Agonda colour options, while the Top Variant is offered in Nimbus Grey and Midnight Blue. Both variants feature GTT, a slipper clutch and Rain and Urban riding modes.

The Top Variant additionally includes a visor, USB charger, dual-channel ABS, adjustable clutch and brake levers, and a digital instrument cluster with SmartXonnect connectivity. The system offers voice assistance, turn-by-turn navigation and incoming call notifications.

Anthony Ho, Regional Business Head of TVS Motor Company for Indonesia and Singapore, said the launch represents a strategic step towards expanding the company's portfolio in Indonesia. He noted that the Ronin has received a positive response from Indonesian consumers over the past three years, earning several awards since 2024. The company expects the new edition to appeal to modern-retro motorcycle enthusiasts, adventure riders and customisation enthusiasts.

Nahason Jurun, Head of Marketing at PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia, said the Ronin Agonda reflects the company's commitment to strengthening its modern-retro portfolio in the country. He highlighted its coastal-inspired design and 225 cc engine, positioning the motorcycle as an option for consumers seeking touring capabilities, adventure and individual expression.
