Airfloa Rail Technology Ltd has secured a Rs 34.85 crore contract from Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, as the lead member of a consortium with Italy-based BLUE Engineering S.r.l. for the interior design of the Vande Bharat sleeper trainset. The company said it is the first Indian company to secure an interior design contract of this scale in the history of Indian Railways.

The contract includes Rs 30.93 crore for comprehensive interior design and Rs 3.93 crore for associated development work. The entire project is scheduled to be completed within 12 months from the date of issuance of the Letter of Acceptance.

The order expands Airfloa's role in railway engineering beyond its existing activities in interiors, seating and furnishings, strengthening its engagement with Integral Coach Factory and positioning it for specialised engineering and design assignments.

The company said the contract aligns with its strategy of strengthening its core railway business through technical expertise, quality execution and participation in specialised projects.
