Gold futures prices rose 1.13% to Rs. 1,51,300 per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Friday, supported by firm spot demand and fresh position-building by speculators.
The December delivery contract gained Rs. 1,690 during the session, with a trading turnover of 2,139 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in gold prices to fresh positions taken by market participants amid firm demand in the spot market.
