HCLTech has strengthened its presence in South Africa with the launch of a new regional headquarters in Johannesburg, aimed at enhancing technology innovation and delivery capabilities for enterprises across the country and the wider region.
Located in Sandton, the new facility will house an AI Centre of Excellence, where enterprises can explore HCLTech’s full-stack AI portfolio, including AI-led service transformation, industry-specific AI solutions, AI Foundry, AI Engineering, AI Factory and AI Advisory.
The facility will also serve as a training hub for developing next-generation technology talent and strengthening South Africa’s digital workforce.
HCLTech said it has supported nearly 500 students and learners over the past five years, with nearly 50 subsequently joining the company in full-time roles. The company has also partnered with the University of Johannesburg, University of Pretoria and North-West University to strengthen the local technology talent pipeline.
Over the same period, HCLTech’s ICT and digital literacy initiatives have reached more than 20,000 beneficiaries across South Africa, particularly in underserved communities.
The company said the new facility reinforces its long-term commitment to South Africa’s technology ecosystem, while expanding its AI capabilities and supporting digital skills development in the region.
