Larsen & Toubro’s Renewables business has won a major order to develop three Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects for a prominent client in the Middle East.

The three projects will have a combined storage capacity of 6 gigawatt-hours and are aimed at strengthening grid stability and supporting the integration of renewable energy in the region. Each facility will feature a four-hour BESS capable of storing excess power and supplying it during periods of peak demand.

L&T’s scope will also include grid interconnection works such as pooling substations and underground cable systems. The storage facilities will use advanced liquid-cooling technology designed to improve power density, safety and operational life.

The order further strengthens L&T’s position in the rapidly expanding energy storage and renewable energy infrastructure segment, while reflecting customer confidence in its engineering and project execution capabilities.
