Copper futures decline on muted domestic demand

Copper prices fell by Rs 1.35, or 0.10%, to Rs 1,374.50 per kg in futures trade on Friday, weighed down by subdued demand in the domestic spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper contracts for August delivery declined Rs 1.35 to Rs 1,374.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 3,177 lots.

Traders attributed the decline to weak demand from consuming industries in the domestic market, which put pressure on copper prices in futures trade.
