Commercial electric vehicle manufacturer Keto Motors has entered India's commercial electric bus market with the launch of its first electric bus, the Urbanova KE9. The company also handed over the vehicle to its operating partner during the launch event.

The 9-metre Urbanova KE9 can seat up to 31 passengers, offers a certified range of over 150 km under full-load conditions, and has a top speed of 80 km/h. It is equipped with features such as ABS, regenerative braking, disc brakes, and electro-hydraulic power steering to enhance safety and efficiency.

Earlier this year, Keto Motors became a publicly listed company following its reverse merger with Taaza International. The company has also committed to investing around Rs 300 crore to expand its manufacturing operations in Telangana, a move expected to create over 2,000 direct jobs over the next three years.

To strengthen its technology capabilities, Keto Motors has partnered with TRON Energy Technology of Taiwan and developed KETO Connected, a digital fleet management platform that enables real-time vehicle monitoring, battery analytics, predictive maintenance, and remote diagnostics. The Urbanova KE9 has also received CMVR Type Approval Certification from the Global Automotive Research Centre (GARC), confirming compliance with safety and performance standards.
