IndiaAI, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to strengthen the use of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare and biomedical research.

The partnership aims to build a nationally integrated and interoperable AI ecosystem for healthcare by combining IndiaAI’s technology infrastructure and AI capabilities with ICMR’s expertise in biomedical research and public health.

Under the collaboration, ICMR will contribute anonymised and ethics-approved health datasets, AI models, and toolkits developed through its MIDAS framework to the AIKosh platform, enabling researchers, startups, and innovators to access high-quality biomedical data.

IndiaAI will also provide GPU-based and high-performance computing infrastructure to support advanced AI research in healthcare. In addition, both organisations will jointly develop AI-powered solutions to address critical public health challenges in India.

The initiative builds on previous collaborations between IndiaAI and ICMR in promoting responsible AI governance and is expected to accelerate innovation in healthcare while ensuring ethical standards, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
