CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (NIScPR) and the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on May 6, 2026, to enhance collaboration in science, technology, innovation policy, and science diplomacy.
The partnership aims to promote joint research, policy analysis, capacity building, and knowledge sharing in areas such as science communication, traditional knowledge, and innovation policy. The collaboration will also include joint publications, workshops, policy dialogues, outreach programmes, and research initiatives focused on inclusive and sustainable development.
During the event, RIS Director General Prof. Sachin Kumar Sharma emphasized the growing importance of science diplomacy in addressing global challenges such as climate change, healthcare, and technology inequality, while highlighting the role of the Global South in shaping scientific governance.
CSIR-NIScPR Director Dr. Geeta Vani Rayasam described the collaboration as a strategic partnership focused on strengthening science communication and policy research through combined institutional expertise.
The occasion also saw the release of three key publications related to India-Korea science cooperation, India’s semiconductor ecosystem, and particulate pollution from road transportation in Indian states.
