The new Aadhaar App has recorded strong public adoption, crossing 21 million downloads within just three months of launch as users increasingly turn to digital Aadhaar services for everyday needs.
According to official data, more than 2.8 million users have updated their mobile numbers through the app, while nearly 6 lakh people have used it for address updates.
The next-generation Aadhaar App offers features such as face verification, biometric lock and unlock, authentication history and QR-based digital contact sharing, with a focus on secure and privacy-centric identity verification.
The app also supports multiple real-world use cases including hotel check-ins, hospital admissions, visitor management, event entry and identity verification for gig workers and service providers.
