Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has forayed into the B2B industrial electronics space with the commencement of manufacturing operations at its Coimbatore campus in Tamil Nadu.
The new vertical, named L&T Electronic Products & Systems (LTEPS), will be headquartered in Bengaluru, with production based in Coimbatore. Initially, the company has commissioned two manufacturing lines to provide electronics manufacturing services to both domestic and global clients.
Commenting on the development, Chairman & Managing Director S N Subrahmanyan said the move aligns with L&T’s Lakshya 2031 vision of strengthening technology leadership and enhancing India’s self-reliance in critical manufacturing sectors.
Building on its strategic electronics expertise, LTEPS will focus on developing and manufacturing industrial electronic products across key domains such as power electronics, mobility, industrial robotics and automation, communication platforms, and electronics systems design & manufacturing (ESDM).
The business will adopt a blended model combining in-house R&D, technology partnerships, and advanced testing infrastructure to deliver market-ready solutions.
Looking ahead, L&T plans to scale up the vertical with future expansion across a 40-acre zone within its Coimbatore campus, covering the full industrial electronics value chain—from R&D and product development to contract manufacturing, sourcing, testing, and engineering support.
