VA Tech WABAG has secured a ‘large’ consortium order from United Water Supply Company of Georgia (UWSCG) for the construction of a 19 MLD wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Kutaisi, Georgia. The project is funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The scope includes engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a new advanced treatment facility, along with demolition of the existing plant and installation of an effluent pipeline. WABAG, as the consortium leader, will handle design, engineering, installation, commissioning, and oversee operations & maintenance for 12 months.
The plant will use advanced mechanical and biological treatment processes, including nutrient removal, UV disinfection, and sludge management systems. It is also designed for future expansion up to 56 MLD capacity.
This order marks WABAG’s entry into the Georgian market and the CIS region, further strengthening its global presence in sustainable water and wastewater management solutions.
