Copper futures advanced by Rs 5.40 to Rs 1,266.85 per kg on Wednesday, supported by improved demand in the physical market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for March delivery climbed Rs 5.40, or 0.43 percent, to Rs 1,266.85 per kilogram, with a business turnover of 230 lots.
Market analysts said the uptick in prices was largely driven by fresh positions built by participants amid firm spot demand.
