Organic Recycling Systems Limited (ORSL) on Wednesday announced that it has formalised its empanelment as an execution partner with Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) for the joint development of Compressed Biogas (CBG) projects across India.
The empanelment was marked by the exchange of a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during India Energy Week (IEW) 2026, held in Goa on January 28, 2026. The MoU exchange and empanelment ceremony took place in the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) and the leadership team of IGL.
The ceremony was attended by Praveen Mal Khanooja, Additional Secretary, MoPNG; Kamal Kishore Chawla, Managing Director, IGL; and Mohit Bhatta, Director–Commercial, IGL, along with other senior executives, delegates and representatives from national oil companies and public sector undertakings.
Under the empanelment, ORSL will actively originate, structure and execute CBG projects in collaboration with IGL, providing a strong institutional framework for project development. The partnership is expected to significantly strengthen ORSL’s national project pipeline and accelerate execution across multiple feedstocks and geographies.
ORSL said it is currently engaging with project sponsors and stakeholders to advance a portfolio of near-term opportunities, with project prioritisation based on key commercial and execution parameters such as feedstock security, land and infrastructure readiness, and overall project viability, aimed at fast-tracking projects from development to implementation.
Commenting on the development, Sarang Bhand, Managing Director, ORSL, said the partnership with IGL provides a strong platform to accelerate the company’s national pipeline and creates a pathway for sustained revenue growth and long-term expansion in the Bio-CNG segment.
Pankaj Tanwar, CEO – Bioenergy, ORSL, said the collaboration would enable the company to advance projects across diverse feedstocks including Napier grass, paddy straw and the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW), while reinforcing ORSL’s position as a trusted technology and EPC partner in India’s bioenergy ecosystem.
