Aluminium futures slipped Rs 2.80 to Rs 278 per kg on Tuesday as traders pared positions amid a soft trend in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), January delivery contracts fell 1% to Rs 278 per kg with a turnover of 617 lots.

Analysts attributed the decline to reduced buying interest from consuming industries, which weighed on prices.
