DGT Partners with Autodesk to Boost Digital Design Skills in India's Vocational Training Network

The Directorate General of Training (DGT), under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), has signed an MoU with Autodesk to enhance digital design and manufacturing skills among trainers and faculty in National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across India.

The collaboration aims to strengthen the digital capabilities of trainers, improve student employability, and align vocational training with emerging industry demands in sectors such as architecture, engineering, manufacturing, and construction.

Under the partnership, Autodesk will provide access to its professional-grade software and learning resources to more than 14,500 ITIs and 33 NSTIs. The initiative also supports the growing need for AI-related skills, with Autodesk’s 2025 State of Design and Make Report noting that 52% of Indian organisations consider AI skills a top hiring priority.

The three-year initiative will include curriculum development, learning modules, and certification support to build an AI-ready, industry-aligned talent pool.

MSDE Secretary Debashree Mukherjee said the tie-up will help bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry needs, while Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost highlighted the goal of empowering India’s youth with future-ready design and manufacturing skills.
