IPPB, EPFO sign MoU to offer doorstep Digital Life Certificate services for pensioners

India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) to provide doorstep Digital Life Certificate (DLC) services to pensioners under the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995. The agreement was exchanged during the 73rd Foundation Day of EPFO in the presence of Union Labour & Employment Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya.

Through this partnership, IPPB will utilise its network of 1.65 lakh post offices and over 3 lakh postal service providers equipped with doorstep banking devices to help pensioners submit their life certificates digitally using face authentication or fingerprint biometrics. The service will be offered free of cost, with EPFO bearing all expenses.

IPPB’s MD & CEO Shri R Viswesvaran said the initiative will ensure convenient, paperless and dignified access for pensioners, especially in rural and semi-urban areas, aligning with the Government’s Digital India and Ease of Living vision.

IPPB has been offering doorstep DLC services since 2020 through the Jeevan Pramaan system, enabling Aadhaar-based digital verification for pensioners.
