Zinc prices declined by 0.55 per cent to Rs 255.30 per kilogram in futures trade on Monday, as traders cut down their positions amid weak cues from the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for July delivery fell Rs 1.40, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 255.30 per kg in 3,458 lots.
Analysts said the decline was primarily due to reduced buying interest from consuming industries in the physical market, prompting participants to scale back their exposure.
