NMDC, the nation's largest iron ore miner, announced on Monday a 9.9% reduction in iron ore production for August, totaling 3.07 million tonnes.
According to a regulatory filing, the company had produced 3.41 million tonnes of iron ore in August of the previous fiscal year.
Sales for the company also saw a decrease, dropping to 3.14 million tonnes this August, compared to 3.54 million tonnes in the corresponding month last year.
On a cumulative basis, NMDC's iron ore output from April to August 2024 fell to 14.43 million tonnes, down from 16.56 million tonnes in the same period the previous year.
Similarly, sales for the April-August period declined to 16.27 million tonnes, from 17.43 million tonnes recorded in the same period last fiscal year.
