Power Mech Projects Limited (PMPL), a leading industrial engineering, construction, and services company in the power and infrastructure sectors, has secured a major contract from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) worth over Rs 2,500 crore (excluding GST).
The order involves the Execution of the Balance of Plant (BoP) Package on an EPC basis for the 1 x 800 MW Singareni Thermal Power Station (TPS), Stage-II.
The scope of work includes engineering, procurement, and construction of key plant systems such as coal and biomass handling, ash handling, utilities, induced draft cooling tower (IDCT), water and wastewater treatment, fire protection systems, along with associated civil, structural, electrical, and C&I works.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Sajja Kishore Babu, Chairman and Managing Director, Power Mech Projects Limited, said,
“This project strengthens our robust order book and reinforces PMPL’s core capabilities in engineering, procurement, and construction. It aligns with India’s mission to expand power generation capacity and ensure long-term energy security through reliable thermal power.”
He further noted that while India continues to advance its renewable energy transition, thermal power remains critical for grid stability and round-the-clock electricity supply. The government’s focus on high-efficiency supercritical and ultra-supercritical thermal units, incorporating cleaner technologies and renewable co-firing options like biomass, underscores a balanced approach to performance and sustainability.
With a strong global track record and in-house expertise, Power Mech Projects continues to deliver complex infrastructure projects with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
